Portfolio Company Onboarding

The portfolio company onboarding exprience is meant to build trust, create understanding, and set expectations early in the relationship between the private equity firm and the newly acquired portfolio company. Getting to know each other, learning how to communicate for shared understanding, and clarifying how to be effective with one another from the start significantly decreases the risk of poor working relationships, destructive conflict, and lack of results. It sets the stage early and effectively for a strong and productive relationship between the organizations.

 

The onboarding experience is a facilitated, one-day offsite inclusive of the key team members from the private equity firm and the portfolio company. Although the specific exercises and flow of the day will be customized to the particular circumstances of the acquisition, a typical agenda would be as follows:
